Blender vray build8/27/2023 ![]() ![]() To address a couple more issues… Vray RT is sort of supported right now. For me, after I had demoed it, I simply went and bought a copy of just the Standalone because it is far cheaper (and I probably won’t own Maya for a long time… if ever). If you have a full copy of Vray for Maya you are probably good to go. I don’t know why I would be different if you buy it. The Standalone was contained in it and it worked perfectly. To demo Vray, I simple downloaded Vray for Maya Demo. As for the getting the standalone, I don’t see what is difficult. Blender’s Python also doesn’t let you make your own custom nodes, so Vray’s support of the node editor is rather limited. For instance, some of Vray’s textures could greatly benefit from being able to specify a custom gradient for them, but you can’t because Blender’s Python doesn’t let you make your own custom gradient controls in the UI. That said, it does suffer from Blender’s incomplete integration of python scripting. I have been able to translate nearly every tutorial for Maya, or whatever, to Blender. First, I think that the integration is very well done. ![]() Thought I’d chime in since I own Vray Standalone and have used it quite a bit. ![]()
